The Mumbai police have arrested a Nigerian nationwide for alleged possession of cocaine price Rs 1.25 crore within the western suburb of Andheri.
The Bandra unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) apprehended the accused with 125 gm of cocaine on Monday, January 8, 2024, an official stated on Tuesday.
A probe revealed that the accused bought cocaine in Mumbai metropolis and suburbs.
The accused was produced in courtroom and subsequently remanded to police custody till January 12, 2024.
Additional investigations are underway to hint others from his gang, he stated.
In a particular operation in 2023-24, the ANC seized contraband price greater than Rs 56 crore and arrested 231 drug peddlers, together with 17 Nigerians and two Tanzanians, the official added.
