Two college students of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, have been crushed to dying by a truck.
The incident occurred on Monday, January 9, few metres away from the varsity’s premises, close to Ikot Inyang village junction, alongside Aba Street in Ikot Ekpene Native Authorities Space.
The truck driver reportedly misplaced management of the car and rammed into the feminine college students, killing them on the spot.
The deceased, Abasifreke Okon, and Irene Edwin from Ikot Abasi and Ibesikpo Asutan LGA respectively, have been getting ready for his or her sensible examinations scheduled for Wednesday. Jan. 10.

Confirming the incident, Akwa Ibom State Sector Commander, Federal Street Security Corps (FRSC), Matthew Olonisaye, attributed the accident to reckless driving. He urged drivers to make the upkeep of their automobiles a prime precedence.
Olonisaye stated: “It really occurred, it’s due to lack of management by the driving force. We advise drivers to abide with the principles that information the utilization of the highway, they shouldn’t be in a rush.
