Public employees in Kwara, underneath the aegis of the Joint Kwara Labour Congress, have issued 14 days ultimatum to the state authorities over alleged refusal of the federal government to honour/ implement written and gentleman’s settlement it entered into with the labour union.
Talking with journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday, the labour leaders within the state, led by the state chairman, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Muritala Saheed, mentioned that the ultimatum to the state authorities is efficient from Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
Different labour leaders on the occasion included state chairman of the TUC, Comrade Tunde Joseph, the state chairman of the JNC, Comrade Saliu Suleiman, amongst others.
“Pricey Comrades, we’re constrained to handle this press convention having noticed that our pricey state is falling aside and the physique language of our authorities doesn’t swimsuit the aim of mending the cracks.

2. Refusal to cultivate and implement 40% peculiar allowance as accredited and supplied for by the Federal Authorities of Nigeria.
3. Non-payment of Consequential adjustment to pensioners since
the approval of the present New Minimal Wage in 2019.
4. Lack of willingness to pay Native Authorities Staff Excellent
Arrears.
5. Excellent Arrears of promotion for 2020, 2021 and 2022.
6. Non-implementation of 100% CONHESS and 100% Hazard Allowance for Well being Staff at Native Authorities Degree.
7. Insufficient funding of our State-owned Tertiary establishments.
8. Non-implementation of 100% CONPASS and CONTEDISS for our
State-owned Tertiary Establishment Staff.
9. Lack of willingness to soak up and correct placement of Kwara Resort Staff with none situation.
10. Correct placement of the redeployed Kwara Water Company Workers into the Service of Kwara Core Civil Service.
The Organised Labour in Kwara is constrained given the blatant refusal of the state authorities to heed these calls for by Staff of Kwara State and this raised worry for industrial peace and concord.
