Two Police officers were killed during exchange of gunfiring between them and suspected kidnappers in Jos, Plateau State .
However, four of the suspects were arrested by the police.
Our correspondent gathered that the incident, which occurred at a place near the Government House,along Little Rayfield, led to the death of Fatoyo Femi and Inspector Dafur Dashit, attached to Force Investigation Department, Abuja (IRT), who were on special duty in Jos.
Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), DSP Alfred Alabo, who confirmed the incident in a statement, said that police are investigating the incident.
The statement reads :”The Plateau State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of the arrest of four suspected kidnappers in the recent foiled kidnapping incident that occurred along Little Rayfield Road, Jos.
“However, two of our officers namely:Fatoyo Femi and Inspr Dafur Dashit, attached to Force Investigation Department, Abuja (IRT) who are on special duty in Jos lose their lives during the exchange of gunfire with the suspected kidnappers.
“Meanwhile, the case is under investigation. Further development will be communicated to you in due course.
“Commissioner Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, appeals for calm in the state as the situation is under control.
