Communications Strategist in the Office of the Senate President, Kelly Okolugbo has called on the Nigerian government to name a national monument after Chief Edwin Clark.

Chief Clark, a foremost Niger Delta leader and elder statesman passed on early in the week.

Following his death, Nigerians from all works, including governments, have continued to mourn the outspoken leader.

Eulogising the late elder in an interview on Arise TV on Tuesday, Okolugbo described Clark as a national leader.

He suggested, “I think they should name a National monument after Papa Clark.

“If you look at the words of the Senate president today, he said that Nigeria has lost the conscience of the nation.

“That is because this is who Papa Clark represented and nobody can deny that fact ”

He added that Clark wasn’t only the leader of the Ijaw nation, stressing “we see him as a leader in Nigeria and to fill this space will be very difficult.’’
