Nigerians are mourning the loss of Pa Ayo Adebanjo, a renowned leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere.
According to reports, Pa Adebanjo died peacefully at his Lekki residence in Lagos on Friday, February 14, 2025.
Tributes have been pouring in for the late leader, with many describing him as a “true patriot” who fought tirelessly for truth, equity, and justice.
Pa Adebanjo was a distinguished lawyer and former organising secretary of the Action Group. He was a strong advocate for a truly independent and progressive Nigeria.
Pa Adebanjo is survived by his 94-year-old wife, Chief Christy Ayo-Adebanjo, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
