The Ogun State Police Command has shot dead the kidnappers of ex-Assistant Inspector General of Police Hakeem Odumosu’s wife and rescued her.
Gunmen had abducted the wife of the retired AIG from her residence in the Arepo area of Ogun State.
The kidnappers were said to have stormed the home of the Odumosus, shooting sporadically.
Confirming the kidnapping story in Abeokuta, Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Omolola Odutola said the State Police Command reacted swiftly to the abduction by deploying operatives to secure her release.
However, one week after her abduction, the victim has been rescued.
It was not ascertained when she was rescued, but Force Public Relations Officer FPRO ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed that the woman was rescued unhurt.
