Eterna Plc has announced the appointment of Olumide Adeosun as its new managing director and chief executive officer, effective February 3, 2025.
The disclosure, signed by company secretary David Edet, was made available through the Nigerian Exchange platform. Adeosun succeeds Abiola Lawal, who will step down from the position on January 31, 2025.
The Board expressed gratitude to Lawal for his exceptional leadership and invaluable contributions during his tenure, noting his significant impact on the company’s progress.
Adeosun brings more than 25 years of expertise in finance and energy, cementing his reputation as a seasoned leader and innovator in the industry.
He launched his career as a business analyst in London under the graduate program at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) UK. He later joined BP Plc, where he excelled in various senior roles across upstream finance, business support, and commercial operations.
In BP’s Integrated Trading and Supply subsidiary, BP Oil International, Adeosun made notable contributions to the Deals Origination Business Unit and played a key role in developing BP’s Africa trading strategy. His efforts led to the establishment of BP Global West Africa Limited in Nigeria.
As vice president of commercial development, Adeosun spearheaded initiatives that drove a remarkable 300 percent revenue growth in just three years.
With this wealth of experience, Eterna Plc is poised to benefit from Adeosun’s strategic vision and proven track record as it embarks on its next phase of growth.
