In response to a tragic attack on Tattara community in Panda District, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state visited the area on Monday, January 13, 2025, to assess the situation and offer condolences.
The assault, which occurred on Saturday night, January 11, 2025, resulted in the deaths of seven individuals and left several others injured. The assailants, whose identities remain unknown, unleashed terror on the peaceful community, causing significant distress among residents.
During his visit, Governor Sule expressed deep sympathy to the people of Panda Development Area and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property across the state. He stated, “This senseless attack on innocent unarmed citizens is unacceptable and must be condemned by all.”
In a decisive move to enhance security, the Governor announced the immediate establishment of a Military Super-Camp in Tattara. This initiative aims to bolster security measures and prevent future incidents in the area.
The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) had also condemned the attack. Dr. Onuk Oji Galadima, Chairman of NYCN in Panda, remarked, “As we demand concrete steps from the government to ensure the safety of our communities, we also call on the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities and not to take the law into their hands.”
