Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has made good on his promise by releasing the sum of N10m he pledged as support to the people affected by the Embwa boat mishap in Kupa, Lokoja LGA.
Following the boat mishap that led to the death of several persons, Sen. Karimi, during his visit to commiserate with the people of Kupa Community in Lokoja LGA, pledged the sum of N10 million to the affected victims.
The senator, while releasing the money to the affected persons on Monday, also paid another N6 million for the completion of Pakuta Bridge in Ijumu LGA.
The Pakuta Bridge links three local governments of Kabba, Ijumu, and Lokoja LGAs to Niger State.
The Pakuta Bridge links Aiyegunle Gbede in Ijumu Local Government to Kiri Kingdom in Kabba Bunu Local Government, Kupa North and South, including Eggan communities in Lokoja Local Government.
Sen. Karimi had earlier released the sum of N17m for the reconstruction of the bridge. With the release of the N6m, his support to reconstruct the Pakuta Bridge now totals N23m.
The senator assured the people of Kogi West of his continued support through quality lawmaking and other initiatives that would impact their well-being.
