The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sen. Sunday Karimi has again donated another N11m for the rehabilitation of Lokoja Fish Market Cold Room.
The gesture, according to the Senator, is aimed at empowering the women to be self-reliant, and said it will enable the women to store their wares when necessary.
Recall that the Lokoja Fish cold room was constructed by the late Hon. Buba Jubril, has been in a decrepit situation over the years.
Sen. Sunday Karimi had in December released the sum of N11m for its immediate rehabilitation and also for the provision of solar street lights in and around the cold room.
The Fish Cold room project is being supervised by Lokoja Local government stakeholders, under the leadership of Hon. Haruna Isah, a former Member of the House of Representatives.
The Lokoja Fish Cold room project is a project that is wholly financed by Sen Karimi, assured that he will continue to do all that is humanly possible to provide succour for women of Lokoja LGA.

In his remarks, Hon. Haruna said the work is progressing speedily, and expressed the appreciation of the market community to Sen. Karimi for coming to the aid of the women.
Similarly, Hajia Ramatu Lami, a fish seller, said when completed the cold room will help in preserving their wares, describing the gesture as timely and a relief to the women in the market.
