Following the recent gains from the deployment of non-kinetic approaches by the Kaduna State Government to tackle security challenges, the state chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has urged the government to sustain the approaches.

The Chairman of IPAC in the State, Hon Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha, stated this in his New Year message which he made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday.

According to him, the setting up of the Peace Dialogue Group, in collaboration with some Federal Government agencies, has led to building bridges of trust, saying, “The efforts of the dialogue group were visible when the State Governor, Senator Uba San, received the first set of repentant bandits in Birnin-Gwari and reopened the cattle market, which had been closed for about 10 years due to insecurity in the area.

Mustapha noted that the development is a breakthrough in the state government’s efforts to address the security challenges that have plagued the state for years.

He also said the Non-kinetic approaches also yielded results as the famous Kidandan Market shut down due to insecurity and was reopened recently by Governor Sani

“The Kidandan Market, located in the Kidandan District of Giwa LGA of State, is a historical market but deserted because of the insecurity bedevilling the area,” he said.

He, therefore, advised that while the Security agencies are using the kinetic approaches to curb the security challenges, the State Government should continue with its non-kinetic approaches.

Meanwhile, the IPAC Chairman also appreciated the road construction embarked on by the Uba Sani’s administration as a welcome development because according to him, building good-quality roads is critical to improving vehicular movement and giving businesses, especially farming in rural areas, an enablement to thrive.

He said the commission of twelve asphaltic roads within the Kaduna metropolis initiated and completed by the government on Christmas Eve deserves commendation.

However, he called for a total overhaul of the political system to deepen democracy.

According to him, the overhauling will ensure a level playing ground is given to all and will encourage many to participate in the democratic process.

He also urged the President, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, to uphold his campaign promises by upholding his campaign promises especially on security challenges, Youth employment, National Credit Guarantee Scheme, Youth Confab, unique agriculture, and livestock production in line with his renewed hope agenda 2025.

The IPAC Chairman called on Kaduna State residents to continue to imbibe the spirit of peaceful coexistence to sustain the prevailing peace achieved in the State.
