A House of Representatives member representing Lavun/Mokwa and Edati Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Abuja, on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Joshua Audu Gana, has donated a block of six classrooms to the Tswagba community in Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the lawmaker, who is also the son of a former Minister of Information and National Orientation, Professor Jerry Gana, inaugurated the multi-million-naira project on Sunday.
During the ceremony, Audu Gana explained that the project was part of his efforts to restore the lost glory of education in the area, particularly in Niger State and Nigeria in general.
According to him, the responsibility of providing quality education to Nigerians should not be left solely in the hands of the government.
He urged Nigerians to complement the efforts of their governments in funding education.

He said, “I’m fulfilled seeing our children receiving education in a conducive environment,” stressing that the project fulfilled his promise to his constituents and complemented the efforts of the state governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago-led administration in Niger State, to advance the education sector.
Audu Gana described education as the best legacy any society could bequeath to its citizens and called on the school management to take full ownership of the project and protect it adequately.
He also praised the giant strides of Governor Umaru Bago, stating that the governor had succeeded in transforming the state.
The federal lawmaker further noted that adequate learning and instructional facilities in primary schools across the country are key to sustainable development.
Audu Gana, who described education as the bedrock of development, assured his constituents of his commitment to vigorously follow up on projects captured for the area in the 2025 budget.
He also urged Nigerians to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level.
In their separate remarks, the Education Secretary of Lavun Local Government, Mr. Jibril Hassan Abubakar, and the NUT wing chairman in the council area, Hon. Yahaya Muhammad, appealed for more efforts to bridge the infrastructure gap in the area.
