- Prioritizes Capital Expenditure

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has signed the 2025 appropriation bill into law, paving the way for a transformative budget that prioritizes capital expenditure in the state.
The budget, valued at over N526 billion, allocates 66% of its funds to capital projects, signaling the governor’s commitment to infrastructure development and economic growth.
As the Governor signs the budget into law, he expressed confidence in his administration’s achievements, rating the implementation of the 2024 budget a 90% success.
He attributed the success to his government’s focus on various sectors and collaborative efforts with development partners, NGOs, and civil society organizations
The Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga, said that the legislative process that led to the budget’s approval was rigorous and thorough.
Bodinga added that the assembly is committed to ensuring that the budget serves the people’s interests through effective oversight and scrutiny.
The 2025 budget, dubbed the “Budget of Transformation and Infrastructural Sustainability,” aligns with Governor Aliyu’s 9-point innovative smart agenda.
“The agenda
already yielded positive outcomes in areas like water supply, youth empowerment, education, environment, agriculture as well as urban renewal initiatives”.
