The wife of Oyo State Governor, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, celebrated Christmas Day by visiting several hospitals in the state, where she presented gifts, cash, and other items to mothers of babies born on the special day.

Among the recipients were Mrs. Suliat Salawudeen, who delivered her baby at 12:40 a.m.; Mrs. Aisha Tijani, who gave birth at 4:17 a.m.; and Mrs. Ikimot Enitan, who welcomed her baby at 6:22 a.m.
Each of the mothers received hampers and cash gifts to commemorate the occasion.
Additionally, other newborn babies in the hospital wards were also given cash gifts as part of the festive celebration.
Mrs. Makinde was accompanied by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi; Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss Wasilat Adegoke; Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Prof. Musibau Babatunde; chairpersons of Oyo East, Oyo West, Afijio, and Atiba Local Governments; and the wife of the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Pastor Victoria Wale-Oke, among others.
Speaking during the visit, Mrs. Makinde highlighted the importance of proper child upbringing, especially amidst the rising prevalence of social vices.
“It is important for parents to take care of their children properly and direct them to the way of God, not only the new ones but also the older ones,” she said.
She urged parents to maintain good hygiene and to demonstrate love and kindness to their neighbours in the spirit of Christmas.
The mothers expressed their gratitude for the thoughtful gesture, stating that the gifts and cash would help alleviate their financial burdens.
