General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministries, Pastor Williams Folorunsho Kumuyi has called on President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, senior government officials and other political leaders to make and take decisive steps that could ease the current pain and sufferings experienced by Nigerians across the country.
Pastor Kumuyi gave this charge when he addressed journalists ahead of the December Retreat and Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) with the theme: “Power for Present Possession”, the urged those in positions of authority to demonstrate genuine compassion and commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians. He emphasized the need for leaders to acknowledge the hardships faced by the populace and work towards implementing policies that would provide relief and foster a better quality of life.
Pastor Kumuyi highlighted that the current economic and social challenges require not just administrative actions but also a spiritual renewal among leaders and citizens alike. He encouraged attendees to seek divine guidance and intervention in their lives and the nation’s affairs.
He emphasized the importance of leaders listening to the voices of the masses and fulfilling their promises.
The cleric appealed to government at all levels to pay attention to the concerns of the citizens, especially in light of the growing hunger, hardship, insecurity, and social unrest that the country is facing.
Kumuyi urged the government to address these pressing challenges head-on, ensuring that the needs and grievances of the masses are prioritized in policy-making and governance. By doing so, leaders can foster a more responsive and accountable government that works for the welfare of all citizens.
“In the past, various sections of society—including women, young people, and activists—have expressed their expectations. Leaders, whether at local, state, or federal levels, are elected to drive positive change. It is their responsibility to listen to the populace and create thorough plans for national improvement,” Kumuyi stated.
He stressed the importance of leaders understanding and addressing the underlying messages from the masses to foster progress in all sectors.
Pastor Kumuyi expressed concern over the low participation of Christians in active politics, urging them to abandon nonchalant attitudes and take an active role in nation building.
