Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has proposed N486 billion as the Adamawa State budget for the 2025 fiscal year.
Presenting the proposal on Monday to the state House of Assembly, Fintiri gave the total figure of N486,218,047,600 for the finance of both capital and recurrent projects.
He explained that N137,256,217,610 or 28.23 percent is for recurrent services and N348,961,829,990 or 71.77 percent for capital development programs.
Breaking down the total budget as earmarked for various sectors, he indicated that the Ministry of Works and Energy Development has the biggest allocation of N88,887,728,830; while the Ministry of Education and Human Development takes the next big share of N49,407,396,580.
He assured that the budget will be implemented with due regard to accountability.
“The state government will continue to work in line with the Federal Government directives to follow international public sector accounting standards, IPSAS, and now SABER to ensure that there is transparency and accountability in budget preparation and implementation,” he said.
He thanked members of the state House of Assembly for the cordial relationship that his administration has enjoyed with them and urged them to accord the same cordiality in assessing the budget.
