The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement, South-South, Gift Johnbull, will empower over 50,000 women in the region with the “Earn from the Soil Initiative.”
This is contained in a statement signed by the President of the Urhobo Youth Leaders Association (UYLA), FCT Chapter, Comrade Kennedy Ejename, in Abuja.
The statement also explained that investing in agriculture in the South-South will help solve the problem of local food supply and enable the nation to earn foreign exchange through food exportation.
“Today’s event has shown that the South-South is an investment destination of choice considering its human and abundant natural resources. If you properly gleaned the facts from the presentation by former Governor of Cross River State, Dr. Donald Duke, and the Senator representing Delta Central at the National Assembly, Ede Dafinone, you will be convinced that investing in agriculture in the South-South will help solve the problem of local food supply and even earn foreign exchange for our country through food exportation,” Comrade Ejename stressed.
According to the statement, Comrade Ejename applauds the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement for showcasing the rich natural resources and investment potential of the South-South region.
“Hon. Gift Johnbull, who is the SSA to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has recorded another class of excellent performance through this initiative by empowering women,” the statement added.
The statement further calls on stakeholders in the region, including the governors of the six states, members of the National Assembly, ministers, federal government agency heads, intervention commissions, traditional rulers, and other youth bodies, to support her in the project to boost the region.
According to the statement, the UYLA FCT Chapter hails her performance in the recently concluded “Road to South-South: National Convergence Event for the Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as a huge success.
“The event, which took place at the State House Banquet Hall, FCT Abuja, amidst distinguished guests, featured robust discourse, awards, and a series of presentations on national dialogue and investment-partnership opportunities, especially in agriculture and agro-like industries in the South-South region of Nigeria,” he added.
“It showcases the extensive community engagements and activities that have been carried out by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Community Engagement, Hon. Gift Johnbull.”
“The climax of the event was the official launch of a maiden agricultural initiative by Hon. Gift Johnbull tagged ‘Project Earn From The Soil.’ This initiative signposts the vast potential and investment opportunities in agricultural activities in the South-South region.”
“The effective implementation of such unique initiatives certainly will serve as a game-changer and empowerment programme for women and youths in the South-South region,” Comrade Ejename emphasised.
