The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Ododo has presented the staff of office to Ologidi of Ogidi, Oba Rabiu Oladimeji Sule, in Ijumu local government of Kogi state as a first-class traditional ruler.
The presentation was a mark of honour for the Ologidi’s 90th birthday.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Pastor Enimola Enimola, Governor Ododo said the presentation of staff of office to the Ologidi of Ogidi was to celebrate his birthday in a unique way.
The Governor, who congratulated Oba Sule on his birthday and presentation of staff of office, described him as a pacesetter and loyal monarch.
He urged him to use the privilege to serve his people and avoid acts inimical to peace and development.

He expressed the readiness of his administration to look into the welfare of traditional rulers to enable them cope with the current economic reality.
The Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Haruna Ibrahim, who expressed delight over the feat, expressed his continuous collaboration with traditional rulers to promote peace in the area.
Responding, the Ologidi of Ogidi, Oba Rabiu Oladimeji Sule expressed appreciation to Allah for the opportunity to witness his 90th birthday and Governor Ododo for surprising him with staff of office on birthday anniversary.
The event which attracted traditional rulers, political office holders from the community was held at the palace of the Ologidi at Ogidi.
The Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Owoniyi and the Olujumu of Ijumu, Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni in their respective remarks felicitated the Ologidi on his birthday anniversary and presentation of staff of office, describing it as well deserved.
