Bauchi State Judicial Service Commission has dismissed a Shari’ah Court Judge, Umar Ibrahim, in Dambam Local Government Area over allegations of gross misconduct.
The dismissal is contained in a statement issued by the commission’s Chairman, Dr Ibrahim Danjuma.
According to the statement, the alleged misconduct violated the judiciary’s code of ethics and guiding principles.
However, the statement did not specify the exact nature of the allegations against the judge.
Danjuma explained that the action was necessary to maintain public confidence in the judicial system and ensure accountability among its officers.
In a related development, the Judicial Service Commission has introduced promotion examinations for staff members on Grade Level 8 and above.
The exams are to assess their knowledge of the law, judicial processes, ethical standards and their responsibilities within the judiciary.
