National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) acknowledged and commended the pivotal role of media partnerships in combating the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Nigeria.

NACA Director-General, Dr Temitope Ilori, while speaking at an exclusive End of Year Media Party to celebrate partnership, impact, and progress, expressed profound gratitude to media representatives.

She said, “Your unwavering support keeps us in the news, facilitating critical discussions daily.”

“Effective prevention conferences have been instrumental in raising awareness and promoting education.”

“The launch of the PMTCT acceleration plan has also yielded positive results, while strategic partnerships with traditional leaders, faith-based organizations, and technical working groups have further strengthened efforts.”

The DG also reiterated the agency’s commitment to achieving an HIV-free generation by 2030, stressing the importance of sustained media collaboration.

“The gospel of HIV prevention and treatment relies heavily on media outreach. Together, we’ve made significant strides, and we pledge continued collaboration.” She added.

Earlier, the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Protocol Division, Mrs Toyin Aderibigbe, noted that the milestones celebrated would not have been possible without the impactful reporting and dedication.

“This is about appreciation and celebration. We hope you enjoy all that we have planned to make tonight memorable and special.”

“As we reflect on the progress we’ve made together, let us also look ahead to an even more impactful partnership in the year ahead.”
