The Nigeria Immigration Service has announced that all services at its headquarters in Sauka, Abuja, will be temporarily unavailable on Tuesday due to the presidential commissioning of the NIS Technology Complex.
In a public notice released on Monday and signed by the Public Relations Officer of NIS, Kenneth Udo, the NIS explained that services such as passport issuance and renewals will be unavailable.
“The Nigeria Immigration Service wishes to inform the general public that all services at the NIS Headquarters, Sauka, Abuja, will be temporarily unavailable on Tuesday, 10th December, 2024, due to the presidential commissioning of the technology complex in the service headquarters,” part of the statement highlighted.
It also stated that other related immigration and banking services at the headquarters will be temporarily suspended.
The NIS advised applicants and the public to make alternative arrangements and visit the headquarters after the specified date. However, the NIS online portal will remain operational, allowing users to access services online.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this temporary shutdown may cause and appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation,” the NIS said in the notice.
