Pepsi Nigeria has unveiled the revamped 60cl Long Throat Bottle, marking its return with a campaign themed “Big Big Tinz” to deliver “Big Refreshment, Big Value.”
Pepsi said in a statement it partnered with Afrobeat singer Young Jonn to create a remix of his hit track, Big Big Things, to become the campaign’s official anthem integrating the brand’s identity into the tune, capturing the spirit of Nigerian youth culture.
The Senior Brand Manager at Seven-Up Bottling Company, Sam Okolie, explained the campaign’s purpose, saying it is designed to strengthen Pepsi’s bond with its youthful audience.
“As a brand, we will continue to be at the forefront of driving contemporary pop culture, engaging the right partners and platforms to seed our message, drive connection, and dial-up an affinity for the brand,” Okolie stated.
He added, “Nigerians have a unique style of expressing their bold cravings, big desires, and dreams. Tapping into the global hit song and popular street anthem allows us to entrench our message and the essence of the campaign—delivering big refreshment and big value.”
Pepsi disclosed the 60cl Long Throat Bottle, originally launched in 2015, is back on shelves in Lagos, Ibadan, and Ilorin.
The campaign also includes an experiential rollout, where Pepsi plans to connect with consumers through memorable events at malls and other key locations.
The soft drink brand announced the remix of Big Big Things premiered on November 16, and is available for streaming on YouTube and other music platforms.
