President Bola Tinubu congratulated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on his 78th birthday, highlighting their shared political journey and Atiku’s enduring impact on Nigeria’s democratic landscape.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Sunday Dare, President Tinubu reflected on the significant role Atiku has played in shaping Nigeria’s political framework since the return to civilian rule in 1999. As a prominent figure in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, he noted that Atiku has remained an influential voice in Nigerian politics.
Tinubu reminisced about their time together as founding members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasising their collaborative efforts aimed at fostering national development.
He noted that despite their recent rivalry during the last presidential election, their shared commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians has always been a common thread in their political careers.
“Atiku’s dedication to public service and philanthropy is commendable,” President Tinubu stated.
He added that as the former vice president marks his special day, he prays that Almighty Allah continues to grant him health and happiness in the years ahead.
