The Northern Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCF) has strongly condemned the suspension of ACF Chairman, Mamman Mike Osuman, for criticizing President
In a statement, the National President of AYCN, Isah Abubakar, described the suspension as a “big disgrace to northern extraction” and accused the ACF leaders of selling their voices for personal gain.
Abubakar questioned what Osuman said that was not a truthful reflection of
He faulted t the behaviour of the ACF leaders, stating that their actions reflected the current state of northern Nigeria, where everyone worked for selfish interests.
Isah, therefore, called on the National Executive Council of the ACF to reverse its decision and return Osuman to his position.
He warned that failure to do so would lead to mobilization to shut down the ACF headquarters in Kaduna.
Abubakar assured the public that nobody could silence any group or organization ready to speak truth to power.
The statement read in part: “We, the Northern youths, feel highly ashamed of the behaviour of the so-called leaders of the ACF in suspending their chairman for being bold enough to tell truth to power at the time everyone is afraid to do so.
“Their actions tell more of the reflection of present Northern Nigeria where everyone work for selfish interest.
“This was not the Northern Nigeria people like Prof Ango Abdullahi, late Yusuf Maitama Sule, late Justice Mamman Nasir or late Chief Sunday Bolorunduro Awoniyi sacrificed for, but a new Northern Nigeria where individuals work for personal interests.
“We therefore call on the National Executive Council of the ACF to, as a matter of urgency, reverse their decision and return Mamman Osuman to his position.
“Failure of the group to do so, we shall mobilise to shut down the headquarters of the ACF in kaduna in the coming days.”
