Former President, Kano State Civil Society Forum ( KSCSF), Ambassador Ibrahim Waiya, has vowed to challenge his suspension from the Forum in court.
Waiya, in a statement by his Media Assistant, Bashir A Bashir, rejected his purported suspension on the grounds that the Forum’s BOT, being an advisory body, lacked the constitutional powers to suspend a registered member of the Forum.
He regretted that his only offence upon which he became a target was his rejection of the Kangaroo elections conducted by the BOT, which featured only 50 of the 200 registered members of the Forum.
“ It is clear that the KSCSF’s BOT is clearly blinded by the desperation to plant a leadership structure, not minding the outcry of the majority of our members who were disenfranchised during the elections,” he affirmed.
He argued that the process of his purported suspension did not follow due process, adding that the BOT did not hear his side of the dispute before announcing the suspension.
Waiya, who is the Executive Director of Citizens for Development and Education(CDE), appealed to the patriotic members of the Forum, associates, partners and the public to remain calm.
He also asked them to disregard the said suspension.
Recall that Hamisu Isa Sharifa, Secretary to the Board of Trustees of KSCSF, had issued a statement announcing a one-year suspension of Ambassador Waiya and his organisation, the Centre for Development and Education(CDE) for acts of misconduct and action aimed at undermining the unity and integrity of the Forum.
