The Anambra State Government has confirmed the implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage for its workers.
In a statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information, it was announced that Governor Charles Soludo has fulfilled the Federal Government’s directive for the new wage, aimed at improving the standard of living for workers.
The statement clarified recent media reports that excluded Anambra from the list of states already paying the new minimum wage, reaffirming the state’s commitment to workers’ welfare.
Governor Soludo’s administration began the payment in October 2024, ensuring that the promise of improved conditions for workers in the state was kept.

The government emphasised its dedication to supporting the well-being of Anambra’s workforce, describing the new wage implementation as a significant step in its broader development agenda.
“Governor Soludo has always remained a labour-friendly governor as the workers in Anambra State have not only received the new minimum wage but also continue to receive salary alerts on or before the 25th of every month”.
He has also adjusted pensions upward to give pensioners in Anambra State higher take-home, the statement added.
