The people of Ere Kingdom in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State have been urged to support the new Elere of Ere, His Royal Highness Oba Richard Olusegun, to enable him to succeed on his ancestral throne.
The Oba of Oke Aga Community in Odo Ere, HRH Oba Sunday Onilede, made the appeal while speaking with newsmen on Tuesday.
Oba Onilede, a second-class Oba and Acting Chairman of the Ere Traditional Council, said he has the responsibility of guiding the new king to the throne of his forefathers.

He explained that due processes were followed, leading to the general acceptance of the king by all the clans that make up Ere Kingdom.
Describing the new Elere of Ere, Oba Richard Olusegun, as a perfect gentleman with extensive knowledge of the history and traditions of Ere Kingdom, Oba Onilede expressed hope for a successful reign.
He noted that the new king’s love for the people and his listening ability will distinguish him as a good leader.
The traditional ruler called on all sons and daughters of Ere Kingdom to work collectively towards the coronation of the new king, scheduled for the 27th of December, 2024.
