The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Interior, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Talban Katsina, Ambassador Zakari Ibrahim.
Ibrahim who was also Coordinator, National Counter-Terrorism, reportedly passed on in Abuja on Sunday at the age of 81 years.
Mourning the deceased in a statement on Sunday, Ahmed who represents Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency of Katsina State said the late counter-terrorism chief contributed tremendously to the development of the nation’s security architecture during his lifetime.
In the statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Sardauna Francis, the lawmaker also described the late Ambassador as “gem of inestimable value and formidable pillar whose contributions to peace and tranquility of the country remains ineradicable.
“As the late Talban Katsina returns to his maker at the age of 81, the Dujiman Katsina extends his heartfelt condolences to the Katsina Emirate Council, particularly the Emir, Dr. Abdulmumini Kabir Usman over the colossal loss.
“On behalf of my family and my constituents, I extend my condolences to the Katsina Emirate Council and the entire indigenes and residents of Katsina State, especially members of the royal family.”
