Abia State traditional rulers have extolled the shinning qualities of the former chairman of Abia State Traditional Rulers’ Council, Eze Ezo Ukandu.
Speaking while receiving the body of the late foremost monarch at the Council’s secretariat, the present Chairman of Abia State Council of traditional rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mba said the departed monarch was a role model for Abia State traditional rulers by setting up precedence worth of emulation.
Eze Mba said that the late Enyi Na Obiangwu of Imenyi kingdom promoted love and peace among traditional rulers while alive, noted that his legacies would always be there for generations to see.
“Enyi Na Obiangwu of Imenyi kingdom promoted love and peace among traditional rulers in the state while and his legacies will be difficult to erase.”
Other traditional rulers including Eze Uwakwe Ukaegbu, Eze Nzenwata Mbakwe and Eze Nelson Mmerengwa, all eulogized the late Eze Ukandu for his sterling qualities and what he did for the Council while alive.
They described the death of Eze Ukandu as a great loss to the traditional institution in the State.
The Ministry of local government and Chieftaincy affairs, represented by Prince Nnamdi Elekwachi described the late Eze Ukandu as one of the most prominent traditional rulers in Igbo land.
He recalled the contributions of the late monarch to the development of Abia State, and listed his various achievements in industry, education, transportation, employment and community development areas.
Eze Ukandu, the 3rd chairman of Abia traditional rulers council, died at the age of 87, and was buried at the weekend
