Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has donated a total of 78 patrol vehicles to the police in the state.
Speaking at the launch of the vehicles at the Government House, the Governor stressed the critical role of the police in maintaining law and order, adding that it was against this background that his administration was committed to them.
“The donation of these 78 patrol motor vehicles to all police divisions in Kano State demonstrates our resolve to ensure safety and a serene business environment in the state,” he declared.
He commended the police for ensuring law and order in the state while imploring them to continue to make the state safe for all.
“I extend my deepest appreciation to other security agencies for their unwavering commitment to security in Kano State. Your collaborative efforts have been invaluable in maintaining peace and stability,” he added.
In his remarks, Kano State Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo said the launch vehicles was a milestone in the history of community policing, adding that it has set a roadmap for the fight against crime and criminality in the state.
He expressed gratitude to the state government for prioritizing security and spearheading the evolution of community-based policing while accrediting the peace enjoyed in the state to the dogged support of the governor.
