The Zamfara State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, on Saturday, organized a stakeholders meeting to develop a comprehensive plan for the future of the state.
The town hall meeting for the 2025 budget was held on Saturday at the JB Yakubu Secretariat in Gusau, the state capital.
This meeting was part of the “Renewed Hope” agenda of the current administration under Governor Dauda Lawal.
In his remarks, the Zamfara State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Abdulmalik Gajam, who also serves as the chairman of the state committee on economic planning, emphasized that the aim of the 2025 budget stakeholders town hall meeting was to ensure that the budget is utilized effectively to improve the living standards of the people in the state.
“This town hall meeting was designed to provide a comprehensive plan for a better future and a revitalized Zamfara State,” he stated.

The 2025 budget town hall meeting held on Saturday at JB Yakubu Secretariat in Gusau, the state capital was designed for the new Zamfara on the renew hope agenda of the present administration of Governor Dauda Lawal in the state.
Earlier in his remarks, the Zamfara state commissioner of Budget and EconomicPlanningg who doubles as chairman state committee on economic planning Hon. Abdulmalik Gajam said the 2025 budget stakeholders town hall meeting was to ensure that the budget is directly used to better the standard of living of people in the state.
“This 2025 budget stakeholders meeting was designed to provide a comprehensive plan for better future and new Zamfara state”.
According to him, in the 2025 budget, the sum of four Hundred and twenty-six billion naira was proposed which is high than that of last year in the state.
“There was an increase on revenue generation performance this year as leakages were blocked,” he mentioned.
Gajam stressed that the Zamfara state books on budget were promising, focus completely on changing the narrative for better future of people in the state.
He further revealed that there was significant growth in human capital development. The primary health care and education sectors are currently undergoing extensive reconstruction and renovations in the state.
” You can recall that recently a state of emergency was declared on education and Health sectors in the state”.
The commissioner emphasized that, it’s time now where the present administration of Governor Dauda Lawal for focus on change,” it’s time to displace administration of accountability and prudent management of Zamfara resources in the state”.He revealed.
Governor Dauda Lawal represented by the state deputy Governor Malam Mani Mummuni disclosed that the present administration is well focus to improve the livelihood of citizen in the state.
He maintained that the budget town hall meeting is to ensure all-inclusive government and even distribution of democracy dividend in the state.
The Deputy Governor called on traditional rulers to submit the lists of needs from their domain within one week to the appropriate athourity for insertion into 2025 budget in the state.
In their remarks, the Emirs of Zamfara who spoke through the chairman council of chiefs His Royal Highness the Emir of Anka Alhaji Attahiru Mohammed Anka noticed and appreciated the state government’s due process while implementing 2024 budget in the state.
He further appreciated the efforts of Governor Dauda Lawal for his proactive measures on the payment of retired civil servant’s pension and gratitude in the state.
