Following a recent lunch of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative by the Director General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Silas Ali Agara, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) office, the Directorate says it has commenced registration of the unemployed for the 2040 opening for FCT residents in the scheme.
The office also revealed that it has put measures in place to swiftly operationalise the initiative in line with the directive of the Director General of NDE, ensuring transparency, due process and accountability in the process.
Over 90,000 unemployed Nigerians across the States of the Federation will benefit from the initiative. 2,040 persons from FCT will be among the total figure
According to a press statement signed by the FCT NDE Coordinator, Mr Noble Chimereze, the office is “mobilising all human and material resources towards the successful implementation of the program,” with the goal of ensuring that the initiative runs smoothly and effectively.
The Renewed Hope Employment Initiative, a programme designed to tackle unemployment, will involve rigorous planning and coordination.
“We are putting in place measures to ensure transparency, accountability, and due process in accordance with the guidelines designed by the headquarters of the NDE,” Mr Chimereze noted, emphasising the Directorate’s commitment to adhering to best practices.
Prospective beneficiaries have been urged to take proactive steps to register for the programme. As part of the registration process, interested residents of the FCT are required to visit the NDE website (www.nde.gov.ng) to create an account using their valid email address, National Identity Number (NIN), and passport photograph. “Successful candidates will be contacted by NDE thereafter,” the statement read.
The NDE’s focus on transparency is underscored by the measures the FCT office has put in place, ensuring that all processes align with national standards and the vision of the Director General, who continues to champion this critical employment initiative.
As the programme rolls out, the FCT office remains optimistic about its potential impact on addressing the challenges of unemployment within the Federal Capital Territory. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to secure meaningful employment through the NDE’s structured support system.
