President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare as Special Adviser on Public Communications and Orientation.
Dare’s appointment was disclosed in a statement by the Presidency on Wednesday.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has approved the immediate implementation of eight far-reaching actions to reinvigorate the Administration’s capacity for optimal efficiency pursuant of his commitment to deliver on his promises to Nigerians,” the Presidency stated.
Prior to his new appointment, Dare served as the Minister of Sports and Youths Development during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Reacting, Dare expressed confidence to serve the President in his new capacity.
He posted on X: “I sincerely thank my Leader and the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for once again, reposing his confidence in him.

Earlier, the President had announced the sacking of five ministers, appointment of seven ministers and movement of 10 ministers to different portfolios.
Bianca Ojukwu was appointed as minister of state foreign affairs while Jumoke Oduwole was named the minister of industry, trade and investment.
