Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has warned about what he observed as the rise of terrorism in Nigeria.
Obasanjo made the observation in Bauchi on Sunday during a courtesy call to the Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Adamu.
The former president was in Bauchi to commission projects executed by Governor Bala Mohammed.
He commended the efforts of security agencies in the country to tackle insecurity.
The former president opined that the efforts of security agencies must be complemented by leaders at the community levels.
“These criminals did not fall from heaven. They are in our midst,” he stated.
Obasanjo commended Governor Mohammed on his achievements as governor.
He also praised the governor’s efforts in tackling security in the state.

Adamu said the visit was highly appreciated by the Emirate and the people of the state, saying it will further solidify the relationship with national leaders in the country.
