The program provides financial assistance to talented individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to their education and future professional growth.
General requirement:
- All candidates will be required and must be able to provide verifiable proof of all academic/non-academic accomplishments and claims made during the screening process. Inability to do so could lead to automatic disqualification.
You must meet the following General Criteria (Applicable to all Categories)
- Academic History: WASSCE + JAMB results. Once enrolled in a post-secondary institution, the most recent CGPA qualifies the candidate for the scholarship.
- Nigerian citizen/legal residents from another African country studying or living in Nigeria at the time of the application.
- Have a valid government-issued means of identification. If you do not have one, your ID must be supported by the government issued ID of a direct family member
- You would be required to submit a 500-word Personal Statement. AI generated statements lead to automatic disqualification.

Requirements
The LCA scholarship has three categories:
Adeola Okungbaye Award
Targeted at students from single parent families (children of widows, widowers) and orphans. The funds provide the chance for beneficiaries to pursue their dreams, without financial obstacles standing in the way.
The Adeola Okungbaye Award honors the memory of Adeola Okungbaye, a dedicated and selfless leader who was passionate about empowering young people and supporting their growth. His unwavering commitment to personal development and genuine care for others made him an inspiring figure and a joy to all who knew him. This award celebrates Adeola’s legacy by providing support to students as they pursue their educational goals and strive to reach their full potential.
Eligibility Requirements;
- Demonstrated financial need
- Orphan or from a single parent family,
- Enrolled or obtained admission in an accredited post-secondary institution (University, Polytechnic, College of Education/Technical College) within Nigeria.
- Show academic ability and achievement with a minimum of 3.5/5.0 CGPA (or its equivalent) or 220/400 Jamb Score if recently admitted to a post-secondary institution.
- Meet all the general requirements of the LCA scholarship program.
Merit-Based Award
We’re celebrating academic excellence! This scholarship will reward students who’ve gone above and beyond in their studies, helping them continue on their path of success and realize their full potential.
Eligibility Requirements;
- Enrolled in or obtained admission to an accredited post-secondary institution (University, Polytechnic, College of Education/Technical College) within Nigeria.
- Show exceptional academic ability and achievement with a minimum of 3.70/5.0 CGPA (or its equivalent) or 240/400 Jamb Score if recently admitted to a post-secondary institution
- Extra-curricular involvement
- Demonstrated leadership potential
- Meet all the general requirements of the LCA scholarship program.
Gifted Hands Award
We recognise that not everyone will work in a formal context and such people should also be given equal opportunities and support to succeed. For students looking to pursue a career as artisans we are providing funds towards the cost of training or purchase of tools and equipment they’ll need for their future careers—whether that’s mechanical tools, sewing machines, or baking ovens. We’re giving you the boost you need to thrive in their chosen field.
Eligibility Requirements;
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 25 years.
- Received valid admission or enrolled in an accredited private/public vocational/technical institution within Nigeria
- Must be currently unemployed.
- Demonstrated leadership potential
- Meet all the general requirements of the LCA scholarship program.
Selection Process
Applicants will be assessed based on academic merit, financial need, and potential for career success. Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide evidence for the different claims made in the application. Candidates may also be invited for interviews as part of the final selection process.
