The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) have renewed their commitment to collaborate to enhance the growth of Nigeria’s aviation sector. Both organisations discussed ways to improve safety and passenger experience at the airports during a meeting held in Lagos this week.
IATA’s Vice-President for Africa and the Middle East, Mr. Kamil Alawadhi, commended the Managing Director of FAAN, Olubunmi Kuku, for the improvements her administration has achieved so far and highlighted the importance of leveraging technology, such as digital solutions for security clearance at the checkpoints, information sharing and operational efficiency.
While speaking, Kuku emphasised the importance of security and passenger experience and outlined FAAN’s plans to adopt advanced security technologies and processes to streamline passenger facilitation and expressed the Authority’s commitment to making the airports more passenger-friendly. IATA pledged its continued support to FAAN, while Mrs. Kuku assured IATA that FAAN would implement its recommendations to meet international standards.
