At least 500 businesswomen are expected to participate in the forthcoming Women Entrepreneurship (WE) summit in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State cappital.
The summit is part of the Port Harcourt Fashion Experience Festival slated to begin on October 24, 2024 with no fewer than 10,000 buyers and participants.
Addressing journalists in Port Harcourt at the weekend, on behalf of the organisers, Director of Communication, Oby Ivy- Fakae, the exhibition would showcase Port Harcourt to the world, while the festival party would feature top musicians and celebrities, especially those from the South-South geopolitical zone.
She said: “This is called Port Harcourt Fashion Experience Festival. It has phases; Exhibition, Runway show, WE Summit (Women Entrepreneurship), Festival Party, called After-party.
“Exhibition is open; WE Summit is for women only doing business in Rivers State. It has a grant aspect to encourage women’s businesses. It has been found that most struggling businesses belong to women. They will get free booths to exhibit.
“The Festival Party would feature top musicians, celebrities, etc, from home and outside especially the South-South and East areas. The exhibition is to show what Port Harcourt can offer.”
