Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike has described Nigeria as a lawless country.
Wike appeared on Channels Television’s Politics Today where he spoke about the recent spate of violence in Rivers State.
Wike has been widely accused of having orchestrated the violence that accompanied the local government elections in the state.
Arogidigba Global Journal reported that some local government secretariats were set ablaze by arsonists after the newly elected LGA bosses were sworn in by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Before the election, the former governor had made several efforts to stop the polls from holding but the state’s electorate aligned with the governor to elect new leaders at LGA and ward levels.
“This country is a country where anybody can do anything and go free, ” Wike said.
“You fall back to social media, to carry blackmail, to carry propaganda without telling people this is what is happening.”
