Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has called on Nigerians to support, cooperate, and pray for the country’s leadership to succeed.
In a statement issued and signed in commemoration of Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary by the Director General of Media and Press Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed, on Tuesday, Buni emphasised the need for national unity and collective effort.
The statement highlighted the prolonged decay the country, sufferings and the need for sacrifice, perseverance, and commitment to restore Nigeria’s glory.
“The challenges of insecurity, the economy, and climatic and environmental factors require strategic and meticulous intervention,” the Governor stated.
Buni urged traditional, religious, and opinion leaders to preach peace, tolerance, and cooperation to foster unity among Nigerians.
“We should explore our diversity to promote national unity, and we must not misuse our cultural, ethnic, and religious differences to the detriment of our national unity,” he said.
He further noted that providing leadership during difficult and trying times demands sacrifice, support, and unity to succeed.
Buni expressed optimism that Nigeria would soon overcome the challenges it currently faces.
