The Director General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Public Procurement, James Folorunsho has claimed that contracts awarded by the state government go through transparent procurement processes and are accessible to all through the Bureau’s e-portal.
Speaking at the 2024 Procurement Clinic with the theme, “Fostering Efficiency and Transparency in Public Procurement,” Folorunsho stressed the present administration’s commitment to ensuring that every contract awarded follows due process.
“We have an efficient e-portal and e-certification pin place. Everything we do at the Bureau of Public Procurement is visible globally because transparency and accountability are our topmost priorities in Ekiti State,” Pastor Folorunsho explained during the clinic held at the Lady Jibowu Conference Hall in Ado-Ekiti.
The event, which was attended by members of the State Executive Council, Heads of Commissions, Agencies, and key stakeholders, served as a platform to address public procurement challenges and ensure the effective implementation of the 2025 budget.
The BPP Boss outlined the bureau’s efforts, including the introduction of e-registration, e-bid opening, and e-tendering modules in four key ministries, along with plans to expand participation by women-owned businesses in public procurement.
The clinic also featured six presentations by different facilitators from the ministry.
The presentations covered critical areas including, Understanding the procurement process and modules; Procurement planning and budgeting; Taxation and tax deductions and women’s inclusion in Ekiti’s public procurement system, among others.
