Intending pilgrims from Kwara State for this year’s Haj, have been urged to be good ambassadors of the state and country at large.

Governor Abdulrazaq made the call Thursday in his farewell to the fifth batch of this year’s intending pilgrims at the Babatunde Idi-Agbon International Airport, Ilorin.

He gave each intending pilgrim $100 and promised that the state government would continue to support the state pilgrims board for a smooth Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Professor Mashood Mahmud-Jimba, said Governor Abdulrazaq has been supportive towards the success of all the programmes and activities of the board.

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the Board, AbdulSalam Abdulkadir advised the intending pilgrims to abide by the rules and regulations of Saudi Arabia and that of the Hajj activities.

The fifth batch comprising 315 intending pilgrims from the state boarded Air-Peace Airline and departed to Saudi Arabia at about 11.18 am.
