Authorities in northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa have recovered physique of a new child child dumped inside a pit latrine by a 16-year-old mom.
IPSS Rescue responded along with the Umhlali South African Police Service (SAPS) K9 Search and Rescue unit after receiving stories {that a} child was dumped contained in the two-metre-deep rest room in Maphumulo on Friday, January 5, 2024.
In keeping with the emergency responders, the teenage lady hid the newborn inside a packet after giving delivery and threw the newborn down the deserted pit latrine within the iLembe District.
“Studies from the scene point out {that a} 16-year-old feminine allegedly hid the delivery of a child and disposed of it in a 2-metre-deep deserted pit latrine in a neighbour’s yard after inserting it in a plastic packet,” IPSS Rescue says.
“The packet containing the new child’s physique was efficiently retrieved from the pit latrine,”
In keeping with the Maphumulo Native Municipality, the realm is predominantly rural.
The police recovered the newborn’s physique as a part of their investigation and arrested {the teenager} and her mom.
Spokesperson of the South African Police Service (SAPS) officers in Maphumulo, KZN, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, who confirmed the incident on Saturday, stated they’re investigating a case of concealment of delivery.
